Earlier this week, Owner of A\/C Designs, Ed Tennant, visited the set of First Coast Living to share insights on how to prepare your air conditioning unit before, during, and after a hurricane.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Follow these tips to keep your unit safe this hurricane season:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Clear the area around your unit so strong winds don&#8217;t blow items or debris inside or against your unit including lawn tools<\/li>\n<li>If you choose to evacuate, turn your thermostat off and make sure the breaker to your A\/C and heat\u00a0is turned off. This is to protect your unit from electrical surges<\/li>\n<li>If you decide to stay home,\u00a0you can leave your air conditioning on, but you should put a power surge protector on your unit or units.
